Complete 800 Series at Offshore Technology Conference 2014

Three 800 Series pressure transmitters

Popular 800 series gains new 815DT smart differential pressure transmitter with configurable solid-state detector output.

SOR Controls Group, Ltd. continues to grow the popular 800 series pressure transmitter line with the addition of the 815DT differential pressure transmitter. The 815DT will be shown for the first time at the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) 2014 at booth 6644; joining the recently introduced (opens in a new tab) Smart Pressure Transmitter" href="https://sorinc.net/products/explosion-proof-pressure-transmitter/815pt-smart-pressure-transmitter/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">815PT(opens in a new tab) and (opens in a new tab) Pressure Detector-Transmitter" href="https://sorinc.net/products/explosion-proof-pressure-transmitter/805qs-pressure-detector-transmitter/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">805QS(opens in a new tab) in addition to the original (opens in a new tab) Pressure Transmitter" href="https://sorinc.net/products/explosion-proof-pressure-transmitter/805pt-pressure-transmitter/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">805PT(opens in a new tab). SOR® reliability makes these pressure transmitters perfect for applications where space is tight.

The 815DT is a loop-powered, microprocessor based differential pressure transmitter offering a configurable single-pole, single-throw, normally-open, solid-state relay. The configurable solid-state detector provides a discrete output signal that can be used for signaling, control and emergency shutdown functions. It is also packed full of powerful communications capabilities with HART®7 communication protocol and Modbus RTU serial communications protocol (RS-485). The 815DT is a smart differential pressure transmitter that is compact, rugged and explosion proof rated; thus, it is suitable for hazardous locations and hostile environments. Ranges available include: 0-1 psid, 0-5 psid, 0-15 psid, 0-50 psid, 0-100 psid, 0-300 psid and 0-500 psid.

Like the 815DT, the 815PT is a stick form-factor smart pressure transmitter. The circuitry is protected by a 316SS housing with 316SST and 17-4SST wetted-parts, the 815PT has hermetically-sealed flying leads and pressure ranges from 5 to 30,000 psi (5:1 turndown). The 815PT is easily configured using HART7 communication protocol and Modbus RTU serial communications, or the zero and span can be set with a magnet. It empowers operators with proper control and monitoring capability to protect equipment, people and the environment.

Another recent addition to the 800 series products is the 805QS which offers a discrete configurable output and supplemental continuous output (either 4-20 mA or 1-5 VDC). Its rugged construction and three-year warranty make the cost of ownership low. The unique, window-type operation of the 805QS closes when the pressure is between the minimum and maximum set points and will open when the pressure is outside of this range. It supports applications where low-cost, discrete and continuous output monitoring is preferred. Detector set points and supplemental continuous output zero and span points are field adjustable via an optional calibration kit.

The 805PT has the stringent IP68 rating in up to 100 feet of continuous submersion and will provide precision depth measurements in liquid applications where watertight protection is required. It is also available with a loop-powered display for local indication, Division 1 explosion-proof rating and a non-incendive Division 2 approval from FM (U.S. and Canada). The 805PT has pressure ranges from 0-100 through 0-10,000 psi with +/-0.25% accuracy and it features a ½” NPT(M) with ¼” NPT(F) dual process connection.

Products in the 800 series are configured, built, calibrated and tested per customer specifications.
